January 10th 1914

At Camp: rained in the morning a little. Went to Mr. Boon’s works at Biddulph. It was very interesting seeing the molten iron turned out, hammered out and rolled into thin strips. Afternoon: Cyril and I went with D.S.H.J. along the road and each had a long ride on his motor-bike while he looked on. I went better and easier than Cyril. I went at 21 miles p’r h’r in one place. I can drive quite well now including starting.
