January 12th 1914

Mr Hope went home by 1.20 train but would not let us. We stayed till 5.45 and had a fine old feed, each making toast, roasted apples, toasted cheese, chestnuts etc. I enjoyed this camp very much, and I think it has been the best so far. We came by 6.40 train and arrived at Levington at about 9.15, rather tired. It was such a change getting a nice bath and sleeping in a bed. I went to bed regretting that the holidays had come to an end.
