I asked “John Pym” to let me off the Saturday morning and offered him the first sheet. He said he thought doing them would interfere with my other work; but as I said, “oh no!” he said he would take them when all were done. I did the second sheet of Greek, finishing at 10pm. I spent about 4 ½ hrs on all the work. Lomay Matthews went in for the entrance examination for M.G.S. but although he passed, he with three others, was refused as the lower forms were all full up. He was disappointed.
