February 12th 1914

I got up as usual. In school, my bag strap broke. Mayo gave us a test on irregular verbs (Latin and Greek) on about 7 ½ pages, in which I got 10 out 15. In mathy [sic] we had an algebra test. I came home by the 3.35 train and got changed into Scout uniform, as Uncle was having a sort of party. Fred Shirley came as Farmer Giles, Miss Gee as Lady Teasle, Miss Pan in Irish costume, Miss Longshaw a Spanish dance, Mr Gardner a Gentleman, Uncle a piernot and feather a judge. We had a very jolly evening. After supper they had dancing. We went to bed after 12 o’clock. I put in some stamps.
