February 13th 1914

For the first time since about last midsummer I did not get up early on a school day. Mother said I had not to as I went to bed late on Thursday night. Mr. Mayo gave us a test on Greek. I came out top in Thursday’s Algebra test. In chemistry we did Sulphur. Mr. Newbould took us. I went to the starman’s class and caught the 4.45 train home. (Cyril tried to send his aeroplane but it was too windy). I did a few lessons and wrote to Messrs Worsley and D.S.H. Jones about Scouting.
