March 8th 1914

In the morning about 9.45 we set out for Shevington, as Mrs Pye had asked us to go over. It drizzled most of the way + then after Wigan it rained a bit harder. The road was very wet + having no mudgards I was splashed back + front. Arrived at about 12.15. Went to post at Appley Bridge. Afternoon it was nice and we went a walk with Mr and Mrs Pye. Stayed in in evening.
